Give Me Ghislain.

Whether or not you realize it, Ghislain Poirier has been around for a little while now. He’s been DJing and producing from Montreal since the beginning of this decade, releasing six albums and two EPs since 2001.

He approaches his music from the position of someone who loves hip-hop, electronica and “world riddims” in equally absurd amounts. Although it’s a solo project, he is probably known and respected best for his remixes of Lady Sovereign, Clipse and Kid Sister, and collaborations with artists like Face T, Radioinactive and Omnikrom.

His unaccompanied tracks are pretty enthusiastic and lively. Very mellow, kind of bombastic. I’d suggest listening to “Diaspora” and”Embargo Riddim” to start.
